Our Story

Eaton Funeral Home has been serving the Sullivan area community for many years. We’re thankful to be an important part of this community and will continue our longstanding legacy of helping families honor their loved ones.

Eaton Funeral Home is nearing its 120th year of operation. During this span of time, ownership of the funeral home has been with just three families: the Williams, the Eatons and now the Toews family.

In 1898, the Eaton Funeral Home was first established. J.T. Williams operated the funeral business in several locations before finally relocating it to his home at 347 North Clark in Sullivan, MO, where it continues to serve today.

Harrison Eaton operated the funeral home until his death in 1989. Both his sons, Harry and Jim, carried on service to the community through the years. Eventually, Jim, and his wife, Mary Ann, continued to own and operate the funeral home until their retirement in 2016. For nearly 60 years, the Eaton family tended to the needs of the bereaved families in a caring and professional manner.

Eaton Funeral Home is now owned and operated by, Travis J. Toews, and his wife, Shanna. Together with their four children and Travis’ parents, Leroy and Sharon, and sister, Andrea, they continue a heritage of family service to Sullivan, Bourbon and surrounding communities. Compassionately caring for families is at the heart of what they do.
